Shahrul Ramadhan pt.II..

Salam,
Didn't realise that it has been a week since I last posted the 1st part. Here's the next part:-

7. Shahrul Tilawah - in a way it's connected to no. 3 (Quran) for the obvious reason; we need to read Quran (tadarus). Reading is actually a part or it and we are encouraged to go further and get to know about tajwid, the meaning and use the quran as our guidance. Reciting the Doa after reading the verses with the intention of asking for Allah's forgiveness for the deceased, the 'pahala' that we get, the same would go to the dead ones as well.

8. Shahrul Sobri - Patience. During this holy month, we are once again being trained to be patient. Try not to get angry, not to get into unnecessary argument that could lead to hatred and try not to provoke. If we are being bombarded with provocation, just utter 'Inni solihun' which means 'I'm fasting'; if God permits, the other party would just back off. Anger management is a way of life and whether we realise or not, it's actually suppressing our tension and hopefully will benefit us in the long run, socially and health wise.

9. Shahrul 'Siam - daytime fasting. This one needs no detailed explanation but there's one word which we should avoid using to express our tiredness, that is 'uzur'. If we keep saying that word, as if we are asking God so that we will be 'uzur' before our time which in turn would render us unfit before we are due for retirement. The word 'uzur' has becoming a cliche in our society and this cancerous 'doa' should be treated as soon as possible.

10. Shahrul Rahmah - bountiful blessing by Allah to the Muslims. Hopefully with this shower of blessing, our sins (be it s,m,l) would be forgiven by Allah.

Those are some of the alternative names for Ramadhan. Hopefully we'll be able to get some extra bounty to supplement our savings for the after life. The prayers that we do 5 times a day, that is our commitment to Allah and Islam and in no way those would guarantee our avoidance from hell or our smooth passage on the way to heaven. So, we need to be clear that apart from our commitment, we need to do extras so as to make sure that we dont fall behind during the Judgement Day..

Until next time, wassalam..
