Breakaway..

Yesterday was pretty full; morning as usual, after friday prayer got sport's practice, at 6pm went to fix the railing at KMP, after Isya' went for the usual squash meet in Ptn City and came back at 1.00 am. I woke up at 4.00 am and left for KL 30 mts later (traffic northbound was heavy) and reached Putra terminal at 5.15 am to fetch 'abang'. Went to have breakfast at 'Nasi Lemak A.Bangsa in Kg Baru (nothing special bout it!!) before adjourning to the mosque for subuh prayer. Later on, we went to a hypermarket in Kg Pandan to do some grocery shopping and by the time we got back home, it was already 11.00 am...Time to hit the cosy bed for a while..............

Pitstop

Greetings,
Pejam-celik-pejam-celik, dah cuti rupanyer!! The time spent seemed to fly very fast with backlog accumulating( I think). Biasa ler, new year, plenty of reminders to be done, working papers to be realised and programmes to be run albeit peruntukan entah ke mana..
This year, 'Master of Puppets' (saper ingat lagu kumpulan mana tu??) kat skolah dah diambil oleh org lain. On paper, I no longer should take heed (well, not 100%) of what's happening with those puppets but I guess it would take sometime before I can slow down.. As per previous years, new f3 students needed to be reminded again and again about the do's and the dont's in school. Somehow, I don't see myself as someone whose patience can be tested without any negative consequences. My patience would run really thin when after the 3rd reminder, the offenders still do the same wrongdoings. I believe people should be given the chance to repent but these young generation, it seemed that they only take PERSONAL warnings as reminders and not the general warning/reminders blasted during the morning roll call. This was evident when a few guys were stopped for various misdemeanour, they claimed they didnt know that what they did was against the school rules...
Yesterday was the last day for me to remind them about the general conduct; For me, action needs to be taken to show those students that the teachers mean business in moulding their characters. We'll see whether they would follow suit or lose their demerit points..

Reminisce

I have just finished reading a memoir written by my seniors about my alma mater, SMS Kel or now known as SMSTMFP. It really affected me for those memories reminded me of the things that have moulded me to be the person I am today. Reading those recollections, I have mixed feelings; glad because I could FEEL the warmth of the stories but at the same time, bad because I did not contribute to the writing. I salute those who left the school about 25 years ago but still have strong feelings attached. Sorry guys, maybe I'll try later but THANKS in advance for inspiring me with all those recollections...

For those who would like to catch a glimpse of the memoir, feel free to visit

Statistik

Salam,
Got this thru email, dunno whether it's true or otherwise. Anyway, just for your light reading..

Selama beberapa tahun aku telah merungut kerana kurang tidur dan terlalu banyak tekanan dalam hidup, akan tetapi sekarang kini aku tahu kenapa ianya berlaku (the real reason) :

Aku keletihan kerana terlebih kerja... nak tau kenapa?

Jadi tinggal 21.3 juta orang.

1.3 juta pula adalah golongan kanak2 bawah 6 tahun.
Jadi tinggal 20 juta orang.

Jadi sedarlah skit.... dahhhh..!!! pi buat kerja!!!

No offence....

Warming up...

A week has passed since I'm back in business although the cycle has not really warmed up yet. Managing human resource is not as easy as managing lifeless stock; students to be reminded, timetable to be readjusted, classes to be monitored, reports to be drafted, prepared n written n etc. The first day of school saw an official from DEO who came to observe the running of the 1st day of school. Who in their right mind would suggest an observer to come on the 1st day to carry out the observation?? Even Uni students need the refresher's week, what more with the school-going children??

Friday came in a hurry; seemed like nothing much has been accomplished. Well, at least I still have sometime in the coming weeks to continue with the unfinished business (hopefully!!). WHY?? cos at 6.20 pm, I received a phone call informing me that a neighbour had passed away that evening. I accepted the fact that we shall 'go' when the time has come but in this case, the deceased was about 43 years old... That made me think, do I really have all the time until my retirement day in 2029 to do what I'm suppose to do or will I only have a few more years left??

This week I'm on duty and that means arriving by 7.15 a.m in school and with the numerous meetings to be held and sports practices, I'm prepared to go back at 5 or 6 pm but tomorrow (tuesday) I'll be going to Taiping for a meeting (8.30 am) and that means my colleague has to cover my slot. On wednesday, sports meeting is scheduled to be on and the disciplinary board meeting is on thursday. This saturday is supposed to be a school day because HM has decided to take the whole week for the Chinese New Year holiday but I won't be in cos the state co-cu unit has decided to carry forward the meeting from 23-25 Jan to 16-18 Jan, to be held in Pkln Hulu (again!)

As the year progresses, I'm hoping that I'll be able to handle things accordingly and at the same time still be able to maintain those handsome 'patches' up-there from thinning out...Any suggestion??

To Do or Not To Do.......

Once in a comfort zone, normally we are reluctant to move out. Would this be applicable for our kids too? I have mixed feelings about this. The reason? Planning or charting the future for our kids. With the current scenario of our young generation, degradation of social values, knowledge for future usage; I feel that I need to......

Last friday at 3 pm, we started our journey to the east coast and we arrived at around 10 pm. Thanks to new seatbelt ruling, we had to leave the 3 kids and the maid behind in TM, just in case of roadblocks. We're sending our eldest to a religious school. The journey was ok but it was raining all the way starting from Ipoh to KB. The following day, we were supposed to attend the briefing at 8 am but decided to skip the lecture and went straight for the registration n paying for the school and hostel fees at 9.45 am. The school is under Kltn Islamic Foundation. Being boarding school students, wifey and I have this fuzzy recollection of hostel life. There were about 250 f.1 students doing their registration and suddenly I felt like I was in a govt boarding school cos I met parents coming as far as Johor during registration. Things were a bit chaotic because we realised that we missed out on a few essentials for the hostel life e.g padlock n we had to buy a pillow cos it's not provided and it was raining all the while!! After paying for the fees and booking the bed in the hostel (as usual, they gave the 3rd floor to f.1) we went out at 12.30 pm to complete the list and to take our lunch.

We went back to the hostel at 5.30 pm to unpack, put markings on the stuff, organised them in the locker, tested the padlock, gave a few do's and dont's and by 7 pm (not before some red-eye-session), we were on our way back to TM cos we didn't want to get stuck if the flood decides to block any major route out of Kelantan. The traffic was slow moving and by the time I reached Gerik, I couldn't keep my eyes open. I decided to rest for a while and what was supposed to be a forty-winks turned out to be a-two-hour-nap at the rest area. After finishing a burger as my supper, I started off at 1 am and reached TM at 3.30 am...

Driving for 6 hours just to send him to continue his study was tiring, not because I'm not used to it but becos of all the instant execution of plans. I thought I had prepared everything but the result showed otherwise. Without realising it, my eldest has started a new chapter in his life but I have full faith in him. Tho' he might stumble but I do believe, with all the exposure that he has, he would be able to survive among his new friends. The thought of sending him to SMKA's did cross my mind and he did apply but I think he would be better off in the east coast. We'll see whether my plan would be for or against me........

Maal hijrah and New Year

Salam n greetings everybody,

2008 'passed away' with lots of memories and the dawn of 2009 has given way to the start of another year. Things change and modifications need to be done to suit the current situation.

The 1st meeting was held yesterday and things couldn't be clear enough. New measures are to be taken to mould holistic individuals and wishful thinking hinted that ideally things could be better. Coming back to real life, hiccups and hindrance are everywhere that could give rise... not to the price of petrol but BP level!! Everybody is hoping for the best but if individuals dont know (dont CARE!!) about their future, can we repeatedly advise the youngsters without them getting bored or getting on our nerves?

Another school is having the meeting tomorrow and after that, we are heading east to register our son for his secondary years. Coming back on saturday, we dont know what time we'll arrive but on sunday, we have to send the daughter for her pre-std 1 programme.

Well, Have a meaningful and fruitful days ahead….

Roger and out..

Thought of having lunch but since I got some data updating to be done, I stayed back until 3.00 pm. After that I worked with my colleagues to bind the booklets for tomorrow's meeting.
