Well, UPSR result was out today. got a few calls even before the result was announced. My son sat for it this year and frankly speaking, I was not that anxious to know the result. As I was not pressured when I was in primary school, I did the same for my kid. I let him study on his own with some coaching but no tuition classes becos I think kid at the age of 12 should be able to rationalise already. I was in a limbo; on one hand, I achieved it before in pep penilaian darjah lima way back in 1982 so I think the blood (at least some of it!) should run in his veins as well but on the other hand, I know that he's not that hardworking/smartworking (depending on how you see it) cos I've given him the ultimatum after seeing his mid year result... It's RM500 for 5A's or zilch if less than that. Hmm, the result has been announced and I guessed he won't be buying the new handphone that he's been dreaming of. Getting 1B is nothing for me but getting B in English, well........
I know it happened to others, maths teachers whose kid got B in maths or science teachers whose son got B in science but in the family that consists of English teachers; from grandpa to aunties, I couldn't fathom at first...
I accepted the fate (as written in Loh Mahfuz) but I guess the pressure is even harder on him for this coming few weeks. People will be asking him bout the result and I guess I wont be backing him. Yeah, you could say that I came down hard on him but I believe I'm doing the right thing. Personally, primary assessment is not that important. It's his first experience in taking the public exam but some people might say, strike while the iron is still hot or make the best out of every chance that you have...
Whatever might be coming or wherever he's going to continue his study, hopefully I'll be able to get him into Maahad........

New Kid on the Block

Finally the day had come for the newcomer to join the family. Although technically he's not ready but due to a few factors, he had to 'come out' last friday 10 Oct 2008 in Shah Alam. Kinda frantic experience for the mother cos had a slight problem after delivery but thanks to the OnG docs there, everything was under control within 2 hours. I had to make 2 round trips from tg malim to shah alam; 1st to send the mummy in for labour n 2ndly had to process the placenta and picked up the rest to be 'stationed' at sec.8 until sunday. A few friends and family members turned up during our 3-day stay. thanks to blacqk, che yang, cho, zack, anis, salwa, umi n abah, mdan, c nyah n sheena for the support shown.
Finally, on sunday at about 6.30 pm. the doc gave the greenlight for us to go home. After settling everything and paid the bill, we started our return journey at 8.20 pm and reached home at 9.20 pm. Felt tired but heck, I still have another 5 days to rest..
Anyway, just wanna welcome the newcomer and hope that our lives would be happier with him around.
Welcome Aboard, Boy......

C-sect pt. II
Time's ticking, decisions to be made, checkups to be done, gynae's not around...
Actually I have more or less decided on the specialist to be visited but I have to find time to go and visit him. We couldn't go last week cos he's away on an oversea trip until 30 Sept. Somebody suggested Shah Alam (UMRA n DEMC) and more or less that's one of the better place; the other option is ampang (APSH n PIMC). The thing is both places got pros n cons. What makes me still undecided is becos of lodging cos I'm thinking of bringing the whole family together. Shah Alam is better (lodging wise) but my instinct tells me Ampang is better for post natal care. Maybe another visit this Saturday and Monday would clear the air and help me to decide. I'm kinda hoping for the procedure to be done on 10 Oct so that I can have some free time to organise things before things get haywire for the rest of Oct n 1st week Nov..
Anyway, to those applicable,

C-sect
salam,
2-3 ari ni dok pening, surf sana, surf sini, trying to find a good place to welcome the 'new member'. This sudden 'peningness' is because I had a meeting on thursday with JPN people and it seemed that I'm suppose to be away for quite a few days in October. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but since wifey is expecting soon ( end of oct) and based on the latest info from her latest consultation with the local hospital gp, she needs to have a c-sect to deliver roundabout mid Oct. I was looking at my TT and heck, to do or not to do.... The previous place that we went had ceased doing delivery, hence the need to find a new place. Ahh, the advent of technology!! With some (spell a lot of) keyboard typing, I managed to find a few places on the net that discuss where-to-find-a-good-gynae-how-much and few medical centres which came highly recommended (but hoping for the bills to be lowly itemised!!). Still weighing the pros n cons cos the places are all over Klang Valley- Shah Alam, Subang Jaya, Kelana Jaya n Pandan Indah. The problem is I never go to these places for checkup and normally if you r going to deliver there, u need to at least have a session with them. Time is running out, kids got religious exam next week in the evening, the following week is raya, 7-8 oct in ipoh, 9 oct got a state level competition to organise n so on...... The only day I could think of is tomorrow. Hope she's up to it to travel to KL....
Insya Allah..
