After Sometimes...

Salam everybody,

It's been a long time since the last entry was posted here. Not that there's not much happening but I don't see it as something special to be noted until early this year. What happened?? Suddenly I found a new hobby (again??) which I delved in straightaway. Hmm, hopefully after this, I could fine the motivation to write at least something every month.

We'll see...

Being Confident..

A hypothetical situation where 20 CEOs from different countries board an
airplane and are told that the flight that they are about to take is the
first-ever to feature pilotless technology. It is an uncrewed aircraft.

Each one of the CEOs is then told, privately, that their company's software
is running the aircraft's automatic pilot system.
Nineteen of the CEOs promptly leave the aircraft, each offering a different
type of excuse. The Malaysian CEO alone remains on board the jet, seeming
very calm indeed.
Asked why he is so confident in this first uncrewed flight, he replies:
"If it is the same software that’s developed by my company's IT systems
department, this plane won't even take off!"

Now ...That is Confidence!

Been a while

Salam and greetings everyone,

It has been a while since I last wrote. As usual, don't feel like it's worth writing but the past fews months have not been so smooth. So, I think this is an avenue to ease up a bit.

The latest test was some modification to the house. I engaged a friend to do the renovation and being a friend, I thought that friendship matters but God has decided otherwise. I thought I'm not that fussy and quite lenient when dealing with dates and payment but true to nowaday's style, money IS everything.. Although I was ahead in terms of payment, the work done was not. Things start to go haywire and before things get worse, my wife and I confronted him. Casually he apologised for the delay and promised that he would complete the work within 1 week. Well, that was 2 WEEKS ago!!

In the meantime, I asked his two workers to work for me, thinking that I would do them a favour because they were complaining about not getting paid. Again, I was fooled. 1 of the worker started to play around and the deposit I gave to him was not being distributed fairly among the four workers. some tools were missing from the house and when I asked, he denied having any knowledge about it. The last straw came when today I realised that a few more items were missing. Damned! I was contemplating of calling him and asked him to own up but I guess with some Modern Muslim nowadays, integrity is not in their vocabulary. Huh, looks like I have to engage another set of workers then because the work is about 30% away from completion.

I don't know whether it's a blessing in disguise or a punishment for my previous wrongdoing from God. The good things are; I can further cut the cost from the project and secondly I got to know (technically) how construction should ideally progressed. The downside is the completion date has to be re-time and I could not concentrate on my core business and I'm perpetually rushing home when the last bell rings..

Insya Allah, this headache will soon be over. Till then, I faithfully hope that 'pisang takkan berbuah banyak kali'...

UP??

Lovers of the English language might enjoy this. It is yet another example of why people learning English have trouble with the language. Learning the nuances of English makes it a difficult language. (But then, that's probably true of many languages.)
There is a two-letter word in English that perhaps has more meanings than any other two-letter word, and that word is 'UP.' It is listed in the dictionary as being used as an [adv], [prep], [adj], [n] or [v].

It's easy to understand UP, meaning toward the sky or at the top of the list, but when we awaken in the morning, why do we wake UP?
At a meeting, why does a topic come UP ? Why do we speak UP, and why are the officers UP for election and why is it UP to the secretary to write UP a report? We call UP our friends and we use it to brighten UP a room, polish UP the silver, we warm UP the leftovers and clean UP the kitchen. We lock UP the house and some guys fix UP the old car.
At other times the little word has a real special meaning. People stir UP trouble, line UP for tickets, work UP an appetite, and think UP excuses.

To be dressed is one thing but to be dressed UP is special.
And this up is confusing:
A drain must be opened UP because it is stopped UP.

We open UP a store in the morning but we close it UP at night. We seem to be pretty mixed UP about UP!

To be knowledgeable about the proper uses of UP , look the word UP in the dictionary. In a desk-sized dictionary, it takes UP almost 1/4 of the page and can add UP to about thirty definitions

If you are UP to it, you might try building UP a list of the many ways UP is used. It will take UP a lot of your time, but if you don't give UP, you may wind UP with a hundred or more.

When it threatens to rain, we say it is clouding UP . When the sun comes out we say it is clearing UP. When it rains, it wets UP the earth. When it does not rain for awhile, things dry UP.

One could go on & on, but I'll wrap it UP , for now ........my time is UP , so time to shut UP!

Oh...one more thing:
What is the first thing you do in the morning & the last thing you do at night? U P

Don't screw up. Send this on to everyone you look up in your address book.

Now I'll shut up

The power of durian

Health Benefits of Durian
>
> Traditionally the durian fruit was seen as a powerful aphrodisiac, while
> women would eat the ashes from burnt durian skins to help them recover after
> child birth. But concoctions made from the leaves of the durian tree were
> also used to help reduce swelling and cure skin disease. More recently
> nutritionists have claimed that the durian fruit can help lower cholesterol
> and cleanse the blood as well as cure jaundice and alleviate fevers.
>
> Experts even say that you can rid yourself of yeast infections such as
> thrush through eating the durian fruit. This is because of the durian's high
> iron content that helps the white blood cells in our body make specific
> chemicals that kill off the infection.
>
> The durian is also packed with amino acids as well as Vitamins B, C and E
> and many people are even comparing the sweet custard like centre of the
> durian fruit to the goji berry for its high levels of anti oxidants. These
> anti oxidants help slow down the destruction of cells from free radicals
> such as pollution and smoking; in doing so, they decrease the effects of
> aging on the skin giving you a younger more refreshed look.
>
> Among the amino acids found inside the durian is tryptophan. Tryptophan is
> essential for making and maintaining serotonin levels in the body. Serotonin
> is the hormone in the body that regulates our happiness. People with low
> serotonin levels tend to have short tempers, are often moody and suffer from
> depression. This means that not only will eating the durian fruit help keep
> your body running smoothly but it will also increase your general happiness
> and well being.

Education dilemma..

THIS LETTER WAS PUBLISHED IN BERITA HARIAN ON 26 OCT 2009... JUST TO SHARE WITH NO SIDES TAKEN...

Pegawai kerap bertukar jejaskan pendidikan

SAYA ingin menyatakan pandangan mengenai pencapaian pendidikan di Daerah Batang Padang tercorot berbanding daerah lain di Perak. Sejak 2004 pegawai Pejabat Pelajaran Daerah sering bertukar, malah pernah tiga kali tiada pegawai.

Maka terjerit penolong pegawai Pejabat Pelajaran Daerah Batang Padang menjaga segala hal akademik.

ADUKA
Batang Padang,
Perak.
